ACI LLC (ACI) is a state of the art aluminium composite panels manufacturing line located in Al Ghail Industrial Park, Non-Free Zone, Ras Al Khaimah, U.A.E. The manufacturing unit was set up in January 2015 as an exclusive Master Licensee of ALCOFORT, a well-established and highly reputed global brand with market presence in over 30 countries in the world.
“Alcofort™” is a registered trademark.
The aluminium composite panel (ACP) is a type of flat panel that consists of two thin aluminium skins bonded together with a non-aluminium plastic polymer core in between.
The aluminium composite panel was first developed in Germany in 1969 and it is today the building façade material of choice for architects and consultants world over. In order to produce ACP, two skins of aluminium are thermodynamically and chemically bonded using special purpose high quality bonding materials with a sheet of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE) in between. Aluminium panel sheets are essentially a sandwich panel, a structure made of three layers: low-density polymer core inserted between two aluminium skin layers. This sandwich setup allows excellent mechanical performance at minimal weight.
The top aluminium sheet of the ACP panel is usually coated with polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) paint. Our high quality Alcofort™ ACP sheets with PVDF coating are produced with a product warranty up to 20 years for loss of gloss and luster. Aluminium sheets are also coated with fluoropolymer resins (FEVE) or polyester paint. Aluminium composite panels are available in a wide range of metallic and non-metallic colors as well as finishes that imitate other materials, such as wood, granite, marble or mirror. The core is commonly low-density polyethylene (LDPE), or a mix of LDPE and mineral material to exhibit fire retardant properties.
Our Alcofort™ panel is available with thicknesses up to 6mm and standard width of 1250mm. Panel widths of 1000mm, 1500mm and 1575mm, and sheet lengths up to 6000mm, and 7000mm are also available upon request. Alcofort™ panels may be produced in 2, 3 or 4 paint systems, as per clients’ specific needs. A wide range of more than 400 colours, including Solid, Metallic, PVDF, PE and Anodized, High Gloss, Brushed Metal and Mirrored finishes, Iridia colours, and Special Wood and Marble colours are available. For special project requests, we can match any RAL color to suit the customer’s needs. We maintain a master batch to track the colour continuity in the same project. We also offer an economy range for interiors with a 10 year warranty. No wonder, within a short span of time Alcofort™ brand has developed a widespread international network of customers, and we proudly export to over 25 countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and Europe.
Architects & designers use aluminium composite panels mainly as external cladding for facades of buildings, and for insulation and signage. However, its uses and applications in buildings and houses are varied. Most of shopping malls, shop fronts and shop signs use ACP. It is increasingly used for internal partition walls, lobby and foyer decorative walls and kitchen cabinets. The future for this construction material is bright and demand is steady.
The designer/applicator may bend ACP sheet easily with other facade materials to form curves and other shapes in accordance with the building design requirements. The aluminium material is easy to maintain and gives a neat look, unlike paint, which tends to fade or peel in a couple of years. The negative effects of extreme climatic conditions on ACP are miniscule. The application is easy and needs very few basic tools.
Alcofort™ panels are manufactured in compliance with ISO 9001:2008 and meet ASTM, AAMA and AS/NZS Standards after independent testing and certification carried out by Intertek, CSIRO, Thomas Bell-Wright and CCS. Our Fire Retardant panels are classified as Grade A-1 by ASTM E84 standards with Flame Spread Index (FSI) at Zero and Smoke Spread Index at Five in Fire Reaction tests carried out by accredited Quality Certification Labs. Our Fire Retardant exposed panel core has also been tested separately and is also classified as ASTM E84 Grade A-1. We procure our raw materials from the best sources in the industry in order to give good value for money to our customers. The paints used on our panels is from world renowned industrial paint manufacturers Beckers Group of Sweden, with whom we work very closely to produce a wide range of both standard and custom-made colors to suit all markets and design requirements. We use only premier quality LDPE, and Dupont adhesive films that provide faultless lamination to our product. Our highly automated state of the art production facility can produce over 2 million m2 per annum. The production facility is regularly audited by certifying agencies for quality assurance, traceability and adherence to the international standards.
We have a highly skilled team of experienced and motivated staff with many years of experience in the industry. Upon arrival, all materials pass through rigorous visual inspections and tests to meet our promised standards. Only the best material that passes through all tests is accepted for the production line. Our ACP production facility is fully equipped with in-house laboratory to test products to international standards. The finished ACP sheets pass through the Line Quality Controller’s station, where at any time, two line QCs remain on duty. Thereafter, final tests are performed in the QC lab before any packing and delivery of ACP sheets is allowed.
